ABOUT ME

I’m from San Diego, California. Since I was little, I loved math, and later went on to cultivate a love of reading and physics as well. I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a B.A. in English and a minor in physics. When I am not tutoring, I’m either hiking, writing, reading, or listening to my favorite music.

MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have prepared over 75 students for college and high school exams since 2013. My students improve by an average of 175-200 points per section of the SAT, 6-9 points per section of the ACT, and 2-3 stanine points per section on the ISEE. I have also tutored over 125 students in math and other academic subjects. I have worked with many students with various learning differences and pride myself on finding the right tutoring style for each individual student.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I’m a believer in cultivating and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships with my students. I focus on pushing them as far as is comfortable, but not pushing them so hard that they get discouraged. I am patient and I get my students to think through questions on their own as much as possible so that they have a true understanding of the concepts.
