I was born in Jacksonville, Florida, the City of Bridges. I developed a love for literature from a young age, and I knew I wanted to pursue psychology before I was out of middle school. I graduated from the University of North Florida with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice. Outside of the classroom, I love to read fantasy novels, curate Spotify playlists, play D&D, and earn 100% achievements in video games.
ABOUT ME
MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Since 2016, I have worked one-on-one with students to foster a love of learning and personalized academic interests. I teach English at the K-12, AP, and college levels, and I specialize in standard, Honors, and AP Psychology. I have conducted courses on U.S. History and Government, and I have led small-group and large-group seminars on college admission essays and test prep. Throughout my tenure as an instructor, I have tutored students on the Verbal portions of the ACT, SAT, and GRE, with an average increase of 5-9 points, 130-200 points, and 15-30 points respectively, and my students have gone on to top universities, including Brown and Babson.
MY TEACHING STYLE
As each student is a fully realized individual, they each deserve an approach tailored specifically to their needs and goals. I focus on building relationships with my students and identifying what makes them unique so my methods can reflect who they are and how they best learn. Flexibility, communication, and understanding are the pillars that define my instruction.
