ABOUT ME
MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have a wide range of experience working with children ages 3-13. Over the past 10 years I have taught across grades at multiple independent elementary schools and preschools , and tutored children in a variety of subjects such as ELA , math, reading. I have training and/or experience with various programs such as Singapore math , Handwriting Without Tears, and Words Their Way. My versatility and background has allowed me to successfully teach and support neurodiverse students. Prior to teaching, I worked as a behavior therapist for children with ASD. My love of teaching children extends beyond the classroom too, as I have coached volleyball teams and led extracurricular classes.
MY TEACHING STYLE
I truly believe that learning should be fun. I try to tailor my lessons to fit the interests of each student I work with and create age appropriate activities. I love to incorporate movement, games, and crafts to help support learning and strengthen skills while also building a rapport with students. Balancing instructional time with fun activities allows children to feel comfortable tackling challenging lessons, and promotes overall retention of material.
