I earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from University of California, Los Angeles. I am also a native Farsi speaker and have tutored many students and adults in speaking and writing Farsi. My hobbies include dancing, hiking, camping, biking, kayaking, and traveling. My favorite quote is “And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.” ― Friedrich Nietzsche
ABOUT ME
MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I started my teaching career in 2003 at Santa Monica College Math Lab, where I tutored all levels of mathematics to college students. I worked one on one with students who had a poor foundation in the fundamental basics of math. Throughout the semester, we worked intensively to improve their math level. I continued my teaching career at LA Tutors teaching math, chemistry, SAT, and GRE classes. I have been with Fusion Academy since August 2014 teaching grades 6-12. At Fusion, I have been teaching all levels of mathematics, biology, and chemistry. In my student teaching at Fusion Academy, I have worked with a group of students who are very diverse both culturally and academically.
MY TEACHING STYLE
My lesson plans employ fun and creativity along with the concepts that are to be taught. My teaching model is to bring as much joy and positivity into the classroom. I believe that having interest in a topic will significantly improve the process of learning. Therefore my purpose of creating a joyful environment is to enhance students’ engagement.
