I was born and raised in the Inland Empire. Growing up with a love for school, I pursued a career in education. I received my bachelors in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in art from Azusa Pacific University. I continued on with my education and received my Masters in Teaching from the University of Southern California (Go Trojans!). I am currently an elementary school teacher working in Los Angeles. When I am not working you can find me at Disneyland or having a blast at a concert.
ABOUT ME
MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been in the classroom since the start of my undergraduate career. During my time at Azusa Pacific University, I was teaching lessons on all subjects to a variety of grade levels ranging from 1st grade to 5th grade. As a graduate student, I worked as a student teacher in a 5th grade class virtually during COVID. I then student taught 1st grade in person. As a current 3rd grade teacher, I teach all of the fundamental subjects to my students.
MY TEACHING STYLE
When I begin work with a new student, I find that it is important to get to know their interests and learning styles. This then allows me to incorporate those interests into the lessons for examples or games which helps the student build motivation to learn the material. I want my students to be aware of their capabilities through the use of a growth mindset in our sessions. Maintaining a growth mindset provides the student with confidence and motivation to reach their academic goals.
