I am a Los Angeles native. I love being a teacher, as well as a tutor. When I was in high school I used to help my friends study and I discovered I was good at helping them understand the material. I studying Psychology as an undergraduate at Loyola Marymount University. I then went back to school for my teaching credential and a Master’s in Elementary Education. An opportunity arose to go back to school to receive a Master’s in Reading Instruction. In my free time I enjoy reading and spending time with my family camping and exploring.
ABOUT ME
MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching for over 30 years. I have taught every grade from kindergarten to 8th grade. I have worked with students who have struggled, as well as, students that needed to challenged and everything in between. I helped them to be successful and build their confidence.
MY TEACHING STYLE
Because of my extensive experience, I have a lot of different ways to teach. I adapt my teaching style to complement my students learning style. For example, for a student that likes to sing, instead of memorizing multiplication facts I will teach them songs that achieve the same goal. In order to be an effective educator, I need to connect with the students and help motivate them to achieve their goals.
