ABOUT ME

I grew up in the Bay Area of Northern California and later earned my Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computation from UCLA. Before transitioning to tutoring, I worked as a software engineer and taught 12th-grade math. When I’m not helping students, I enjoy reading and making the most of my AMC A-List subscription.

MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE

On average, my students see a 135-point improvement in each section of the SAT. As a former AP Calculus and Precalculus teacher, I’ve had the privilege of working with both high-achieving students and those who are disengaged and struggling. One of my proudest moments was when a 12th-grade student shared that my class was the only place where she felt she truly understood math.

MY TEACHING STYLE

With over 5 years of professional tutoring and more than two years of classroom teaching experience, I strive to facilitate those “aha!” moments when students finally grasp challenging concepts. My approach involves following the student’s thought process and problem-solving strategies, providing a supportive and non-judgmental environment. I celebrate their successes and gently guide them when they make mistakes. This method not only prepares my students for their next exam but also boosts their confidence in their logical reasoning abilities.
